Loretta C. Biggs has been licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina since 1984 and has served the state for over 10 years as a Judge in the state district and appellate courts. She is also licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia having been licensed in 1979. Ms. Biggs practices exclusively in the area of Family Law and provides services which include, among other things, interstate and international child custody, child support, alimony, complex equitable distribution, mediation and arbitration.

Ms. Biggs graduated from Spelman College in 1976, Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in Political Science, and from Howard University School of Law with a J.D. degree with Honors in 1979.

In addition to being licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Georgia, Ms. Biggs is admitted to practice in all North Carolina Courts as well as the United States Court of Appeals (1994), the United States District Courts (1994) and the United States Supreme Court (2002).

Ms. Biggs has been named in the “Best Lawyers In America” and “North Carolina Super Lawyers”. She has been appointed by the Governor to the Commission For Judicial Campaign Finance Reform and appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina to the Court’s Commission on Professionalism. Ms. Biggs is the recipient of the 2000 International Common Ground Community Award given by the largest non-governmental conflict resolution organization in the world and is one of only three individuals in the nation to receive the 1999 United States Attorney General’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Community Partnerships for Public Safety.

Ms. Biggs has served as an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University School of Law, as a member of the Board of Law Visitors at Wake Forest School of Law and the Board of Law Visitors of Salem College and Academy, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Winston-Salem State University. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, the North Carolina Association of Black Lawyers, the Forsyth County Bar Association and the Winston-Salem Bar Association.
